A Rare Opportunity to Learn About Truth & Reconciliation

Brought to you by Pleasant Park Public & Rideau High Schools We are very honoured to have Commissioner Wilson be our guest speaker for our 3rd Aboriginal Lecture Series. Commissioner Wilson has been traveling across Canada for the last 6 years, as part of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, witnessing the experiences of Aboriginal people who attended residential schools. These experiences were a result of the government legislation that created the residential school system, which have had a profound negative impact on Aboriginal People, and in turn all Canadians. Education plays a key role in reconciliation moving forward. It is through education that we will create a better Canada based on greater understanding and respect. We invite all our parents, educators and the public to attend this historic and transformative lecture. Thursday, May 21, 6 pm  Doors Open & Welcome Ceremony – Lecture Starts at 7 pm Rideau High School, 815 St. Laurent Road FREE – Everyone Welcome (Family Oriented) Aboriginal refreshments will be served Kindly register by May 19 at http://pleasantpark.ticketleap.com/trc/ Made possible through generosity of Pleasant Park Council, Rideau High and Ken and Debbie Rubin Foundation
