Councillor Jean Cloutier has organized a Cycling Safety Blitz for Pleasant Park Road on Wednesday April 20th from 2:30pm – 4:30pm.
Emergency Services, Pathway Patrol, and Safer Roads Ottawa will be on hand to ensure you have all the required cycling safety gear: they will have lights, bells, and other giveaways on hand (while supplies last). The blitz team is encouraging people to ride their bikes that day and stop by for a chat. Look for the team which will be at the northwest corner of Pleasant Park Road and Lynda Lane.
Another event of interest is Helmet Weekend (May 14/15) when participating retailers will be offering Ottawa residents a discount on new helmet purchases.
Also if you know an individual or group who has made outstanding contributions to the encouragement of cycling in 2015, consider nominating them, by April 22nd, for the Bruce Timmermans Cycling Award.
