Our community can make change happen! We started our Outdoor Education Initiatives in 2020 to give our students a safer, more dynamic place to learn outside. Now, we are just $10,000 away from our $64,000 goal for a 30-person Outdoor Classroom at PPPS.
We reached out to our community and raised almost $30,000 so far, and the OCDSB will match us dollar to dollar up to $25,000
- $15,000 grant from the Desjardins Ontario Credit Union
- $1,000 grant from Walmart Canada
- $4,234.57 from parent/guardian donations
- $9,000 from School Council fundraising
We are aiming to install the Outdoor Classroom in summer 2023, and must secure funds by the end of March 2023. Our awesome classroom will include log and rock seating, a stage and blackboard and seating for 30 students. With our overcrowded school at 150% capacity and 9 portables, the outdoor classroom has the added benefit of increasing our learning areas at the school.
